Good design has
a natural flow...
But it doesn't happen
naturally.
I can build you an
attractive and effective website
that you will be proud to show off.
I can rebuild your current site to increase its effectiveness and attractiveness.
REBUILD PROJECT: Scott Gress, Leadership Coach
This website was a redesign project for a church leadership consultant. First, we talked about his clients, his potential clients, and what attractional items he could include on the front page. Then we simplified the menu system. The whole page is both clear and attractive. It is more focused on leadership people with leadership challenges to find solutions.
I also updated the style of the website to include large hero images and motion backgrounds.
The top of the redesigned page includes a user problem and the provider solution in bold letters. The next bar clearly shows what three types of service he offers. Further down, we show his credentials, his publications, and we explain in more detail what coaching is. The explanation is necessary right up front because there will be people who say to themselves, “Yes, I have some leadership challenges. But what is ‘coaching’ exactly?”
Importantly, we were able to reuse all of his current visual assets with minor modifications (e.g. photoshop an old logo off a shirt).
The site is, of course, fully responsive. If you visit it, you will find it very easy to navigate because principles of good UX design were used throughout. Everything that is clickable responds to mouseovers, so users can easily navigate all the clickable options.

"John was the perfect website designer. He was a partner who listened, communicated, worked through questions that I had and produced a great result."
I recommend John without reservation

I can build you a brand new modern site using current best practices.
NEW BUILD PROJECT: Harbor City Education
Harbor City Education is a unique startup school on the central East coast of Florida. This site was a ground-up design. It includes:
- a full motion background on the hero image,
- entrance animations to draw attention to the most important elements, and
- everything that can be clicked reacts to mouseovers so that the user can easily navigate the site and click where desired.
It is simple, attractive, and well-organized. Visit https://www.hcte.net to see it in action.

John's work is phenomenal, his designs unique, and his passion undeniable.

I can solve problems and build assets from scratch if needed.
Scott didn't want the logo on his shirt? Poof! It's gone!
There was a picture that we wanted to use on the front page, but the client didn’t like the logo on the shirt because it was for an organization that has since shut its doors. Throw away a good picture? No. Just get rid of the logo. With just a little bit of adjustment, you probably have all the graphical assets you need to rebuild your site into something modern, beautiful, and high-converting.

New staff headshot doesn't match other headshots? No problem!
PROBLEM: Photos and other assets that don’t match the overall look and feel of the site (or other digital project).
SOLUTION: Photoshop.
A consistent look and feel are vital for any professional website. I have the Photoshop chops to make sure everything looks of a piece. In the case below, Emergent Leader added a staff member but didn’t have a matching photo. I took care of that.
Here is the new staff member’s headshot. It’s nice, but it doesn’t match the rest of the staff pictures on the website.

And here it is with a matching background perfectly integrated into the client’s site.

I can design and build motion graphics for you.
THE PROBLEM: Our church needed a short stinger for our videos.
MY SOLUTION: This particular vision logo works well in print and provides a snappy highly-brand-reinforcing ending to any video. It not only identifies our brand but reinforces what we are about.
I can design and build whiteboard explainer videos for you.
THE PROBLEM: How to help people get a handle on a long (3 years!) missionary journey by the apostle Paul.
MY SOLUTION: This whiteboard video explaining the first missionary journey of the Apostle Paul is approaching 70,000 views on YouTube. (This video has over 70k views on YouTube.)
A well done whiteboard video is a very engaging way to communicate ideas and propose arguments forcefully. The movement keeps people engaged. Whiteboard videos are a great choice when you want to explain something or convince your audience of something.
